Good Restaurants in Aswan

Good Restaurants in Aswan

The Nubian Restaurant

The Nubian restaurant is located on Isis Island and is a popular eatery with tour groups. A free motor boat bound for the island departs from the dock opposite the Egypt Air office and gently cruises across the Nile. On a busy night, a fun but tongue-in-cheek Nubian music show takes place with guaranteed audience participation.

It’s not the cheapest place to eat in Aswan, and probably not the best. But you do get a free boat ride out of it, and you certainly won’t leave hungry. Set meals go for 70LE including your choice of chicken, fish, or beef dishes, soup, a selection of mezzes and desserts.

Aswan Moon

One of the most tranquil spots in town, the Aswan moon is a laid back riverside café. Even in the height of summer, the Moon seems to retain its cool in the shade of an array of colourful hanging cloths. You can choose from a selection of salads, pizza, meat and fish. Main courses cost between 25 – 35 LE.

Located on the riverfront a 5-10 minute stroll north from Egypt Air.

Chef Khalil

An understated seafood restaurant with effective air conditioning, Chef Kalili is located on the main thoroughfare of the bazaar. A few minutes walk from the train station end (on your left if waking away from the station).

The staff here are not overfriendly, but the seafood and fish is delicious and reasonably priced. Main courses (seafood) between 25LE and 35LE.
