What it Costs

What it Costs?

By US, UK or Western European standards, Egypt is a cheap country in which to travel. But like everything in life, it can be as expensive as you make it, and is influenced heavily by where you stay, where you eat, how much travelling you do, and what you see. For example it is cheaper to spend a day on the beach than it is to travel around the city visiting monuments. Likewise if you book your excursions from a 5 star hotel you’ll pay considerably more than if you arrange them yourself.

As a rule of thumb, things are cheaper if you travel in pairs (i.e. you have someone to share the costs of rooms & food with). If you are travelling solo you can expect to pay about 35% more.

To help you budget for your trip, we have put to together pricing guidelines below: Please be advised that these are very general.

Rock Bottom10-15€ per person per day Staying hostels, eating from supermarkets, minimal sightseeing and independently arranging optional excursions yourself, public transport.
