Ferries Egypt to Sudan

To Sudan - Nile River Valley Transport Corporation operates a weekly ferry between Aswan ( Egypt ) and Wadi Halfa ( Sudan ). Tickets can be purchased from their offices in Aswan (located in the shopping mall to the rear of the Police Station from Reservation Manager Mr Salah Takourney.

Tickets usually go on sale one week prior to sale.

Two vessels actually set sail at each departure, a ferry for passengers and a barge for vehicles. The passenger ferry takes between 18 - 24 hours while the vehicle barge typically takes 2-3 days to complete the same journey.

Tticket prices cost between 30 – 60€ (approx) depending on which class you choose (1st class AC with a bed where each cabin contains two; 2nd class airplane style seats; or deck class). Vehicle prices depend on the size/type of vehicle. Full breakdown below:

Air conditioned cabins are known to get cold so have a fleece to hand.
