February in Egypt

February in Egypt

Weather and Temperature

Like January, February is a good month for a full on site seeing agenda; the cooler weather being more conducive to a hectic schedule.

For sun bathing however, February in Egypt maybe a little frustrating with the wind and somtimes overcast skies.

Temperatures in Sinai are a little higher and the warm currents from the Gulf of Aqaba mean that resorts like Sharm El Sheikh and Dahab are typically warmer than those on the mainland coast (i.e. Hurghada).

Inland Sinai is cooler again and hikers may even experience snow when climbing Mount Sinai. Excursion are possible into the Western Desert but temperatures at night will likely drop below freezing.

The Nile Delta remains the coolest part of the country ranging from 11-18 ̊C in Alexandria and 8-18 ̊C in Cairo. As always the south of the country is hotter with temperatures of between 10-23 ̊C in Aswan and 10-21 ̊C on Red Sea coast. Sharm El Sheikh is warmer with temperatures ranging from 14-26 C
