One Week Itinerary Cairo to Luxor via Hurghada
Summary
This itinerary is fairly busy but doable in a single week. It will allow you enough time to see several of Egypt’s key pharoanic monuments while still tagging a day at the beach on the end. For more leisure time, or to include a visit to Aswan, try this itinerary in two weeks.
Description
Spend your first couple of days in Cairo visiting the Pyramids of Giza, the Egyptian museum and time permitting, the markets on the first evening (See suggested Cairo itineraries).
On the evening of Day 2 board an overnight sleeper train to Luxor. Alternatively you can catch a cheap flight to Luxor.
You then have two half days and one full day to enjoy Luxor (See suggest Luxor itineraries). Hurghada is about 4 - 5 hours away from Luxor by bus or private transfer. Make this journey on the afternoon of Day 5.
Enjoy a full day in Hurghada on day 6. You can lounge at the beach or take a boat trip out to see some coral and do some snorkelling.
You return to Cairo by public bus on Day 7.

DAY 3: AM Arrive Luxor PM Visit Luxor (Luxor Temple)
DAY 4: Full free day in Luxor (Visit West bank sites)
DAY 5: AM Visit Karnak PM Bus or private transfer to Hurghada
DAY 6: Full free day in Hurghada
DAY 7: AM Bus to Cairo PM Fly home
